李杨瑞,男,1957年4月生于广西北流市民安镇,1982年初毕业于广西农学院农学系甘蔗专业,获农学学士学位。先后在福建农学院获农学硕士学位(1985)和博士学位(1988年1月)。教授、编审、博士生导师,现任广西农业科学院院长兼中国农业科学院甘蔗研究中心主任,国际糖业科技协会(International Association of Professionals in Sugar and Integrated Technologies,IAPSIT)理事长、国际糖业研究促进协会(Society for Sugar Research and Promotion)副理事长、国家甘蔗产业技术战略联盟理事长、中国作物学会甘蔗专业委员会副主任委员、广西壮族自治区政协委员、广西科学技术协会副主席、广西甘蔗学会理事长等职务;同时担任国际权威糖业刊物《Sugar Tech》编委、《中国农业科学》副理事长兼编委、《中国农学通报》副主编、《西南农业学报》副主编、《广西农业科学》主编及其他多个刊物的编委。
先后主持国家科技支撑计划重点项目2项,科技部国际合作项目2项,国家自然科学基金项目5项,农业部“948”项目1项,其它国家和省部级科研项目等多项,其中,在甘蔗遗传育种、化学调控、甘蔗健康种苗、糖蜜酒精发酵液定量稀释还田作液肥等方面的研究达到世界先进水平,在甘蔗生物固氮、先进适用技术配套组装和在生产上大面积示范应用等方面处于国内领先水平,在甘蔗生物技术研究上获得多项创新性成果。先后获省部级科技进步二等奖4项、三等奖3项,厅级等科技进步奖十多项,在国内外专业学术刊物上发表论文450多篇,专著9部。
1992年被破格晋升为教授,并先后获广西优秀留学回国人员(1992)、广西青年科技标兵(1993)、国务院政府特殊津贴(1992)、广西优秀专家(1994)、广西高校首批跨世纪学术和技术带头人培养对象(1994)、国家“百千万人才工程”第一第二层次人选和广西“十百千人才工程”第一层次人选(1998)、全国优秀科技工作者(2002)、全国先进工作者(2005)、中国科协西部开发突出贡献奖等称号。于2004年、2006年两度获得国际糖业研究促进协会颁发的糖业研究突出贡献奖,2008年获埃及西奈大学授予的“2008年度和平与相互理解贡献奖”(Sinai University Award for Peace and Mutual Understanding 2008)。
